Zoom University?!

I used the Design Thinking Structure to guide me through different stages: emphasize, define, ideate, and prototype. At the end of the semester, we tested our ideas by presenting them to our classmates and professor.

Assumption

By reading news articles and reflecting on my personal experiences, I formed several assumptions related to "international students' online learning experiences" topic.

Interview

Then, I conducted in-depth interviews with two of my friends, and collected their attitudes and pain points toward online learning.

To have better ideas of their study space, I asked them to provide pictures related to their study environment.

Pain Points Highlight

Based on secondary research and interviews, I highlighted some paint points which could be used for further design improvement.

Brainstorm

Based on their pain points, I brainstormed several solutions. During this process, I also did several quick user tests by showing all these solutions to them, and asked them which one they prefer.

Low-Fidelity Prototype Design

Based on my target users' feedback, I selected three ideas among all, and built prototypes around them.

The first one is designed to solve their needs of "making office hour appointments without using email".

The second one is designed to solve their needs of "knowing better about classmates".

The third one is designed to solve their needs of "redesigning participation criteria for online courses".

Final Design

I continuously collected feedback from others based on my prototypes, and finally used the video below to introduce my final design.
