Education, Art, and Technology
Problem Statement
Today, we cannot live without technology, especially during and after COVID-19, when everything moved into digital forms and platforms. Under this situation, it is necessary to let children expose to technologies and develop a sense of digital citizenship.
At the same time, the concept of “STEAM” is getting more and more popular. STEAM education reinforces the idea of symbiosis between the arts and sciences, and can encourage children to learn things more interdisciplinary and think more creatively.
From the art education perspective, technology gives students a new way to create art, transform traditional art, and collaborate with others. Although research showed many positive effects of integrating technology into art education, the divide between what is needed and what is provided still remains. Therefore, bridging the gap between arts and technology in and out of the classroom is essential.
